s.loya As a longtime fan of Tim’s music, it’s good to see him back at it again. Discovered this one late in 2020 and would easily rank it up there with my favorites of the year. It’s a lot to digest without being exhausting, well worth taking some time out to listen to the whole way through. A very rich and inspired body of work, here! Favorite track: Reef Cycle.

Super Super Sounds 103 minutes(!) of digital, granular soundscapes, slow, evocative and moving, both bold and intimate all at the same time. Set aside some time and dig deep, this a super rewarding listen. Favorite track: Huntsman.

Brian Boyce This is Tim’s best album to date. Pure listening pleasure and a great cortical workout.

Seuck Loved the rich, nostalgic, still atemporal atmosphere created with multiple layers of what seems to be field recordings, toys, acoustics and electronics. Second work I bought from Tim. Love. Favorite track: Some Sane Device.

Having begun my musical experiments with a stark array of old instruments and a borrowed TEAC reel-to-reel four-track in the early 1990s, I thought it appropriate to abandon DAW-based composition and sequencing that I have used for nigh on two decades and return to a more organic process once again.

Gathering open-ended passes of myself playing drums, Rhodes piano and acoustic / electric guitar I attempted to construct a sense of cohesion and flow with some very disparate source elements. Woven into the mixes are numerous recordings made whilst travelling through the West coast of America in mid 2019.

The majority of the takes on this album are live performances of manipulated acoustic guitar affected by granular synthesis, with the onus being on free-form flow and progression to capture unintended occurrences and pleasant mistakes.

'Scordatura' is a tuning of a stringed instrument to effect a very different sound output than that which was intended for the instrument.
